Renewable Energy & The Geothermal Opportunity

UTC is at the forefront of the drive for energy efficiency and sustainability. Two areas of technical focus combine heat and power (CHP) systems for building applications and for renewable power generation technologies.

Over the past five years, UTRC has developed CHP technologies that have been commercialized by UTC Power as the PureComfort© that delivers overall efficiency of 70 - 90 percent (compared to average grid efficiencies of 33 percent).

An example of renewable power generation technologies is UTRC's Organic Rankine Cycle that has been commercialized and branded by UTC Power as the PureCycle.®

This technology enables the use of the lowest-temperature source (165 degrees Fahrenheit) for conversion into power and has been recognized by the geothermal power community as one of the most significant advancements in geothermal power generation in the past 100 years.
