High-Power Density PEM Fuel Cell Power Plant
United Technologies Research Center has demonstrated a high-power density proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell power plant through vertical flight.
Using UTC's proprietary high-power density PEM fuel cell technology, UTRC has achieved the following firsts:

The first vertical flight of a fuel cell powered rotorcraft.
Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009:
The first vertical flight of a fuel cell powered rotorcraft
using compressed hydrogen and air.
