The people of United Technologies Research Center make life better by getting involved in the communities in which they work and live. Every year UTRC employees donate funds, time, expertise and energy to a number of community outreach projects.

A major activity for many UTRC employees is participation in the annual United Way campaign. UTRC employees raise money for United Way through contribution pledges, and also by participating in the many fund-raising events held at our East Hartford campus. Employee contributions, boosted by matching funds from United Technologies Corporation, make UTC the largest contributor to United Way in the greater Hartford area.

UTRC employees are actively involved in volunteer efforts especially supporting math, science and technology education; the environment; arts and culture; and health and human services. UTRC volunteers give generously of their time to both company-sponsored events as well as outside involvement to support and strengthen the community around them. They also reach out to the communities where they live and work through matching gift and volunteer grants funding allocated according to UTC's charitable giving policy.

Through these efforts and many others, the people of UTRC are able to demonstrate their care and concern for their community.
