Employees at UTRC are well-educated and well-credentialed (more than 70 percent of our technical staff holds a doctoral degree in their discipline). Continuous learning is a focal point of our organization. Employees have a broad range of opportunities for on-the- job-training as well as access to external and internal educational programs. As active members of professional and academic societies, many of our researchers and scientists present their work at external conferences and symposia. UTRC fellows and senior staff are mentors and guides to new and junior members of our organization.

In addition to targeted training programs, all UTRC employees are eligible to participate in UTC's global Employee Scholar Program, which offers unmatched educational incentives, including full tuition and expense reimbursement, paid study time, and graduation stock award for completion of accredited degree programs. Career development is not a one-time event or activity. Employees are encouraged to discuss their individual development plans with their supervisors and leadership regularly and to consider new opportunities available both in the Research Center and in our sister divisions in UTC.

Innovation through science, math and technology are at the core of UTRC's mission. Our programs support employees in their personal development as well as encourage the advancement of these disciplines outside our company. UTRC is proudly sponsoring participants in the State of Connecticut's Alternative Certification Program (ARC), which offers an accelerated certification program for new teachers of math and science in Connecticut grade schools and high schools.
