EAST HARTFORD, Conn. – United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) announced today that Bryan Dods has been named Executive Director of the Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence, located on UTRC's East Hartford, Connecticut, campus.
The new Additive Manufacturing COE is accelerating deployment of a broad range of metal and polymer additive technologies across UTC businesses, advancing UTRC's position as UTC's global innovation hub.

"Bryan will lead our Additive Manufacturing COE, and I'm confident his expertise in advanced manufacturing will enable him to develop the strategic collaborations needed to accelerate the development, transition and deployment of additive manufactured products and systems across UTC business units."
Dods joins UTRC with extensive experience in leading advanced manufacturing in large aerospace corporations. He started his career at McDonnell Douglas, and then held positions of increasing responsibilities at The Boeing Company and GE. Dods' most recent role was chief executive officer of The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) -- a partnership of industry, universities, national laboratories and governments working together to benefit the nation's energy and economic security by sharing existing resources and co-investing to accelerate innovative research and development in the advanced composites field.
Dods earned a Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgy, mechanics and materials from Michigan State University; a Master of Science degree in materials engineering and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri; and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Indiana University.
