UTRC scientists elected to Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering

EAST HARTFORD, Connecticut - Three UTRC scientists were inducted last evening into the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering (CASE): Robert Darling, fellow, electrochemcial engineering; Alan Finn, fellow, systems; and Mark Jaworowski, fellow, corrosion science.

They were among 24 new inductees honored during a celebratory dinner hosted by CASE, placing them among Connecticut's leading experts in engineering, science and technology. This brings the total number of current UTRC CASE members to 15."

The induction ceremony also recognized Pratt & Whitney's Michael Maloney, manager, structural alloys, hot section materials and coatings; and David Carter, senior vice president, engineering; as well as Alexander Majewski, fellow, UTC Aerospace Systems."

David Parekh, corporate vice president, research, and director, UTRC, said, "I congratulate Alan, Mark and Rob on being honored for their technical expertise and merit. This prestigious recognition, which affirms the depth and breadth of their respective scientific achievements, is well deserved. It underscores UTRC's commitment to world-class innovation and to advancing STEM education -- science, technology, engineering and math -- within the state of Connecticut."
