SHANGHAI, China - United Technologies Research Center (China) Ltd. today celebrates its 20th anniversary of successful operation. UTRC China focuses its core capabilities on developing transformational products and systems in the areas of turbomachinery, building efficiency, analytics and human-machine interaction. UTRC China is a subsidiary of United Technologies Research Center (UTRC), the innovation engine of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
UTRC China's engineering advances have resulted in major technological milestones for both UTRC and its partnering UTC commercial businesses. These milestones include:
- Applying aerodynamic and acoustic modeling to design Carrier AquaEdge™ compressors;
- Integrating elevator, fire and security systems to demonstrate intelligent egress for high-rise buildings;
- Developing UTC proprietary dynamic modeling library (UTCTSD) for model-based design applications;
- Developing presence sensing technology to enhance elevator passenger experience.

UTRC China was founded in Shanghai in 1997. Today, it operates with a highly skilled workforce, employing nearly 50 technical experts -- 73 percent of whom hold doctorate degrees from universities across the world.
