Annapragada named 2016 Young Engineer of the Year by American Society of Mechanical Engineers

EAST HARTFORD, Connecticut - The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Electronics and Photonics Packaging Division recently presented UTRC's Ravi Annapragada with its coveted Young Engineer of the Year award.

Established in 2008, the award annually recognizes "a young engineer with significant technical career achievements as demonstrated through papers, patents or product development."

It represents the 10th external honor received by Annapragada, a Staff Research Engineer in the Thermal Management group. He joined UTRC in 2011.

"I give a lot of credit to UTRC for allowing me to gain the necessary external exposure to be considered for this award," he said. "Unlike other companies, UTRC allows its technical staff to attend conferences and committee meetings, publish and present papers, and engage with professional colleagues outside UTRC on a regular basis. Such opportunities offer great visibility within the industry for staff as well as the Research Center and provide teaming opportunities while seeking external resource development."
