UTRC talks clean energy manufacturing with DOE leaders

EAST HARTFORD, Connecticut – More than 200 UTRC and UTC employees gathered on Friday, Dec. 11, to hear about the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) agenda for clean manufacturing from key customer Dr. David Danielson, Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).

Danielson leads the EERE within the DOE, overseeing a broad energy portfolio that is intended to hasten the country’s transition to a clean energy economy. He was accompanied by 12 DOE leaders.

The group visited UTRC in East Hartford as part of The Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative (CEMI) Days -- a DOE-wide commitment to innovation and breaking down market barriers in order to enhance U.S. manufacturing competitiveness while advancing the nation's energy goals.
