NEW YORK – On Wednesday, Nov. 11, UTRC Senior Director, Sustainability and REACH Bill Sisson was interviewed on the subject of sustainable business and environmental solutions at the inaugural Bloomberg Sustainability Business Summit in New York City.
The two-day event, hosted by Bloomberg BNA and Bloomberg Sustainable Business and Finance at the company's global headquarters in Manhattan, featured senior executives from a range of industries and government policy organizations discussing their methods for innovating through sustainable business and "green" practices.
The format consisted of panel discussions and case studies interspersed with VIP interviews. Sisson participated in one of three such interviews on Wednesday afternoon.
He addressed UTC's 30-year track record as a global sustainability leader, citing its history of accomplishments; collaboration with the U.S. Green Building Council -- UTC is the only company in the world to be a founding member of the GBC on five continents -- and World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD); and critical product innovations like the Otis Gen2 elevator and Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower jet engine.
Sisson was interviewed by Chris Walker, Director, North America, WBCSD, and shared the stage with a sustainability expert from Ford Motor Company. The interview was live-streamed through Bloomberg Terminal.
