HARTFORD, Connecticut – Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy announced Tuesday, Sept. 1, that United Technologies Research Center will participate as a partner in the new Flexible Hybrid Electronics Manufacturing Innovation Institute (FME HII).
The FHE MII is part of the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation announced by President Barack Obama in 2012.
The institute will be led by the FlexTech Alliance, a California-based consortium of 96 companies, 11 laboratories and non-profits, 42 universities, and 14 states and regional organizations — including UTRC, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development and the University of Connecticut. Its mission is to advance the manufacturing of flexible hybrid electronics within the United States during the next five years.
